Echo Nightly — Complete Setup Guide

How to combine Spotify metadata with Deezer audio streams (and YouTube Music as fallback) using Echo Nightly and the Combine Extension.

Note on Spotify ToS: The Spotify extension interacts with Spotify's service in a way that violates their Terms of Service. To reduce risk, always use the Combine Extension as your main extension — not the Spotify extension directly. Consider using a secondary Spotify account.
1

Download the latest build

Go to the official Echo Nightly releases page on GitHub and download the latest .apk file (the first one listed).

github.com/itsmechinmoy/echo-nightly/releases

2

Install the APK

Once downloaded, open the .apk file directly from your file manager to begin installation.

If prompted, allow installation from unknown sources in your device settings.

3

Open the extensions panel

Launch Echo Nightly. Tap the extensions icon in the top-left corner, next to the Unified Extension label.

4

Search for available extensions

In the "Link or Code" input field, type extension. A list of all available Echo extensions will appear.

5

Select and install all four extensions

Find and select each of the following, then tap Add to download and install them all:

Combine Extension
Spotify
Deezer
YouTube Music
6

Authenticate Spotify, Deezer, and YouTube Music

Once all extensions are installed, open each extension's settings and log in with your respective account. You need active accounts — and ideally active subscriptions — for all three services.

Spotify: consider using an alternate account to protect your main account's listening history and data.
7

Open Combine Extension settings

Go to Settings → Extensions, then tap the settings icon next to the Combine Extension.

8

Apply the following configuration

SettingValue
Streaming qualityHighest
Metadata extensionSpotify
First available modeEnabled
Preferred stream extensionDeezer
2nd alternative stream extensionYouTube Music
9

Set Combine as your main extension

Always use the Combine Extension as your primary extension when browsing and playing music. Never switch to the Spotify extension directly — doing so routes audio through Spotify's servers and increases the risk of account suspension.

Combine Extension

The Combine Extension acts as an intelligent proxy: all UI, feeds, playlists, artwork, and track metadata are sourced from Spotify, while actual audio playback is resolved through Deezer's CDN. If a track is unavailable on Deezer, YouTube Music is used as a fallback automatically.

In practice: you browse and search using Spotify's catalogue, but the music plays from Deezer — your Spotify account is never used to stream audio.

Using the Spotify extension alone streams audio from Spotify's servers via an unofficial client — a clear ToS violation that frequently triggers ban waves. With the Combine Extension, Spotify is only queried for metadata (names, artwork, playlists) while audio comes from Deezer, significantly reducing suspicious activity on your Spotify account.
When enabled, the Combine Extension automatically tries Deezer first for every track. If a track isn't available on Deezer, it silently falls back to YouTube Music. This ensures the widest possible catalogue coverage without any manual intervention.
For the best experience, yes. Spotify Premium allows full library and playlist browsing. Deezer Premium unlocks high-quality audio streams. YouTube Music works without a Premium account for most tracks, but may have limitations on certain content.
Yes, there is still a risk. Even accessing Spotify metadata through an unofficial client violates their ToS. Bans typically happen in waves, not in real time. Using an alternate Spotify account and always keeping the Combine Extension as your main interface reduces — but does not eliminate — that risk.
The Echo community maintains an active Discord server at discord.gg/echoapp and official documentation at echomusicdocs.vercel.app. For Spotify-specific issues, check for an email with subject "Notice under Spotify Terms and Conditions of Use". If you haven't received one, try logging out and back in to the extension.
